Insulation Guidelines

Remember these guidelines with insulation:

• Insulate your loft with at least 150 mm of appropriate insulation
• Also, lay insulation across the opposite way to increase effectiveness
• Windows are a major cause of heat loss so it may be wise to invest in double glazing
• Use a draught excluder for your letter box
• Use sausage shaped, rolled up blankets, insulation strips to keep draughts from coming through doors and window sills
• Ensure curtains are fully lined
• Use thick carpets and underlay to stop heat from escaping through the floorboards
