Cooking Guidelines

Remember these guidelines when cooking:

• Cover saucepans with lids to reduce cooking time
• When cooking on the hob turn it off a couple minutes before the food is ready because the hob will still remain heated for awhile after it is turned off
• Vegetables cook quicker in microwave oven and retain natural nutrients so try to use this option
• Cut food into smaller pieces so it cooks quicker
• When boiling vegetables, use just enough water to so that they are covered
• Try to cook small items of food under the grill rather than the oven
• When making toast use electric toasters rather then the grill
• Use pressure cookers because they speed up the cooking process
